The contracts include the expansion of the San Román Cemetery (€1.9 million), the maintenance of schools (€600,000), road signage (€170,000), and the acquisition of three municipal vehicles (€128,400), amounting to a total investment of €2,807,247.62

The Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Contracting states, “These are contracts that translate into works, real maintenance, and more resources. They are not announcements; they are firm decisions backed by budgetary provisions.”

The Contracting Area of the Arrecife City Council, led by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, has completed the awarding of four strategic contracts that will enhance public services, improve road safety, and modernise the city’s infrastructure, with a total investment of €2,807,247.62.

These are four key contracts: the awarding of the expansion of the San Román Cemetery, the awarding of lots for the maintenance of schools, road signage contracts, and the purchase of three vehicles for municipal services.

“We are following a clear road map: investing where it is most needed and accelerating procurement so that improvements reach citizens as soon as possible,” emphasises Echedey Eugenio, who highlights that “we are transforming municipal resources into tangible investments that result in better services, modernised infrastructure, and increased safety for everyone.”

One of the most significant actions is the awarding of the expansion works for the San Román Cemetery, entrusted to Hormiconsa Canarias, S.A., with a budget of €1,908,847.62 (including IGIC) and an execution period of eight months. This work includes a five-year guarantee that ensures the quality and durability of the tasks. “This is a historic demand from many citizens of Arrecife, and with this project, we are responding by creating a dignified and adequate space for families,” underscores the councillor.

In the educational sphere, maintenance of schools has been awarded in two complementary lots to the UTE Capross 2004–Activa Lanzarote. Lot 4 (Walls) has a maximum authorised expenditure of €400,000.00 (including IGIC). Meanwhile, Lot 5 (Roofs) amounts to €200,000.00 (including IGIC). Together, the overall investment in these lots is €600,000.00. “We want safer, healthier, and better-maintained schools; hence, we are addressing both walls and roofs, with a work plan prioritising quick and effective responses,” adds Eugenio.

Mobility and road safety are also enhanced with the contract for the conservation, maintenance, supply, and installation of the road signage of Arrecife, with a budget of €170,000 (including IGIC) and a one-year duration, extendable. “Ensuring that streets are correctly signposted is key to road safety and achieving orderly and efficient mobility in the city,” the councillor adds.

Lastly, the modernisation of the municipal fleet is promoted through the contract for the supply of three vehicles destined for the Public Works area, valued at €128,400 (including IGIC). “Renewing the fleet is essential for municipal teams to respond better and faster,” emphasises Eugenio.

With these four contracts, the Arrecife City Council strengthens its commitment to responsible management that is close to the actual needs of the municipality. “These contracts translate into works, real maintenance, and more resources. They are not announcements; they are firm decisions backed by budgetary provisions,” concludes the Deputy Mayor.
