The Council plans this new tender through the Mobility Department ahead of the upcoming tender for the fourth Resurfacing Plan to be executed by the Public Works Department
The technical specifications foresee an annual contract, extendable for a second year
The Arrecife Council, led by Mayor Yonathan de León, has planned significant works on the road network of Lanzarote’s capital for the second half of its mandate. This includes resurfacing, improved accessibility, and new road signage, all part of a robust municipal investment plan with allocations in the municipal budget for 2025.
As part of this planning, and through inter-administrative coordination among municipal departments, the Mobility and Transport Department, headed by Councillor Mario González Altube, has published the tender for the “Service for the conservation, maintenance, supply, and installation of road signs in the municipality of Arrecife.” An investment of €317,757.00 is earmarked for this project. According to the technical specifications and the tender announcement, the Council of Arrecife is calling for this tender, which anticipates an annual contract of €158,878.50, extendable for an additional year.
Mario González Altube has emphasised that this tender aims to equip the Mobility Department, which includes the Municipal Signage Service, with the supplies and resources necessary for maintaining and installing municipal signs on the road network. Over the coming months, this network will be renewed through various initiatives. Companies wishing to participate in this tender have until 6 October to submit their financial and technical proposals.
Improving the road network in the neighbourhoods of Arrecife
Concurrently, the Public Works Department, under the direct guidance of Mayor Yonathan de León, has already budgeted for a new tender for the next phase of the Municipal Resurfacing Plan. This will allow the department to continue during the forthcoming autumn with new asphalt pavement renewal projects in many of the streets across Arrecife’s neighbourhoods. The investment for this new phase will exceed one million euros, as announced by the city’s mayor.
