The swift response of the firefighters from the Consorcio and the local police officers who arrived on the scene was crucial in preventing a tragedy. While the police engaged in conversation with the individual, who appeared to be a young man, the firefighters managed to position the cushion used to soften potential falls from height. In this instance, the person had climbed over the protective barrier of the bridge and attempted to jump from a height of around five metres.

Fortunately, they were able to calm him down and prevent him from jumping, thus avoiding another tragedy amid a series of such incidents that have filled many pages of news on Lanzarote.
