After a few weeks of summer break, the competitive team from Auria Badminton Club is back in action, participating this weekend in the TOP TTR Las Playitas event, which features a total of 123 players.
Team Details
The club’s delegation, consisting of eight players and one coach, set off early on Saturday for the island of Fuerteventura, where the competition is being held at the Pabellón Playitas Resort.
Categories and Competitors
The TOP TTR Tuineje, classified as N7, includes categories for under-13s, under-17s, and senior competitors, with Auria Badminton Club represented by eight players. The delegation includes Isaac Rincón, Álvaro Guadalupe, David Rodríguez, Nerea Padrón, Patricia Vargas, Zhi Tao Li, Alejandro Rijo, and Oliver Gausmann, all of whom will participate in both individual and doubles events, and will be accompanied by coach Jorge Oliverio Pérez throughout the weekend.
Under-13 Competitors
In the under-13 category, Auria Badminton Club will be represented by Isaac Rincón, Álvaro Guadalupe, David Rodríguez, and Nerea Padrón. In the group stage, Isaac Rincón will face Francisco José González and Aarón Mayor, while Álvaro Guadalupe will compete against Lionel Escudero and Mario Padilla. Nerea Padrón is set to play against sixth seed Emma Ramos, as well as Alexia María Méndez and Nira Ojeda. Meanwhile, David Rodríguez will go up against Diego Ramírez and Airam David Steux.
Under-17 and Senior Categories
Patricia Vargas will represent the club in the under-17 women’s category, facing third seed Celia Cabrera and Yareima Morales in the group stage. In the senior category, Zhi Tao Li will take on second seed Denys Shevchenko, Sergio Carbajo, and Carlos Roger, while Oliver Gausmann will compete against Adrián Martín and third seed Kevin Van.
Doubles Participation
The Auria Badminton Club members are also participating in doubles at the TOP TTR Las Playitas event. Isaac Rincón and Álvaro Guadalupe are pairing up in the under-13 category, while David Rodríguez and Nerea Padrón will compete in mixed doubles under-13. Zhi Tao Li and Alejandro Rijo will participate in the senior doubles category. Additionally, Patricia Vargas will partner with Weichen Xu from Club Badminton La Palma in the mixed doubles under-17, and Alejandro Rijo will play alongside Claudia Haugaard from Club Badminton Tecnocasa Fuenlabrada in the senior mixed doubles.
Event Schedule
The Auria Badminton Club delegation set off early on Saturday for Fuerteventura, commencing their competition in the Pabellón Playitas Resort that morning. Following the first day, they will rest at Hotel Elba Lucía Sport, resuming competition on Sunday morning before returning on the 16:00 ferry.
