CAAF Awards Demolition of Old Depot and Offices in Corralejo for New Parking Area
The Water Supply Consortium of Fuerteventura (CAAF) has awarded the contract for the demolition of the old depot and offices located in Corralejo, within the municipality of La Oliva. This initiative will free up valuable space, which will be allocated to the creation of a new public parking area. This project is a result of collaboration between the CAAF and the La Oliva Town Hall.
The project, with a budget of €295,000, will be executed by a Temporary Joint Venture (UTE) consisting of Construcciones y Excavaciones Erri Berri, S.L. and Construplan, Construcciones y Planificación, S.L.U. The work includes the demolition of the facilities and proper waste management, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
Significance of the Project
The CAAF’s Chief Executive, Adargoma Hernández, emphasised the importance of this operation. “With this demolition, we are taking a step forward in transforming spaces that no longer serve a hydraulic function, repurposing them for new community needs.”
He added, “In this case, the project, coordinated with the La Oliva Town Hall, addresses a pressing demand in Corralejo: the lack of parking.”
Institutional Cooperation
Hernández also highlighted the value of institutional collaboration. “The cooperation between the CAAF and the La Oliva Town Hall reflects our shared commitment to improving the quality of life in the municipality. We are turning a disused space into a practical solution for residents and visitors.”
Next Steps
Following the signing of the contract, work on the demolition will commence, aiming to make the land available as soon as possible for the development of the new public parking facility.
