English and German Courses for Tourist Attention Return
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, in collaboration with ecca.edu, has announced the return of its English and German courses for tourist attention. Today, the Minister for Economic Promotion and Employment Development, Nuria Cabrera, and the island delegate of ecca.edu, Carmen Nieves Hernández, signed an agreement to continue this training project with a new edition. The Cabildo and ecca.edu launch a new edition of the courses ‘We Are & Wir Sind Fuerteventura’
Enhancing Language Competencies
The ‘We Are Fuerteventura’ and ‘Wir Sind Fuerteventura’ courses aim to improve the language skills of the local population and increase their employment opportunities, particularly in the services sector, including transport, commerce, and security. This year, the programme will also include an English course focused on the healthcare context.
These courses receive great acceptance each year, thanks to the various levels of training offered. “They enhance employability through linguistic knowledge development,” stated Cabrera.
Collaboration Across the Island
The island delegate of ecca.edu expressed gratitude to the Cabildo for “this close collaboration, which allows these language courses to be taught in four locations across the island: Corralejo, Gran Tarajal, Puerto del Rosario, and Morro Jable.”
Funding and Development
The initiative is funded with €31,000 from the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), covering all aspects of the project’s development.
The courses will employ a methodology that integrates teaching materials, audiovisual content, and tutorial actions, aiming to reach a total of 260 enrolments.
