The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecasts that this Sunday, the Canary Islands will experience mostly clear skies, with occasional cloudy intervals in the north and northeast of the islands, particularly below 700–900 metres.

General Forecast

  • Temperatures: Largely stable, with slight increases in the midlands of the southern slopes. Highs of 30–32 °C are expected on the western, southern, and southeastern slopes of several islands. In the interior of Gran Canaria, temperatures could climb to 34 °C, making it the warmest area of the archipelago.
  • Winds: Moderate northeasterly winds with strong intervals are forecast. Very strong gusts are likely on the southeastern slopes, extreme northwest, and metropolitan area of Tenerife, as well as on exposed peaks and ridges of other islands. Breezes will prevail in the western zones.
  • Sea Conditions: Northeasterly winds of force 5 to 6, locally reaching 7 in the northwest and southeast during the early morning, will bring swells or heavy seas. On the southwest coasts, winds will be lighter (force 1 to 3) with choppy seas. A north swell will generate waves of 1 to 2 metres.
