Clínic Arbitral DBL 2025 Kicks Off Basketball Season in Lanzarote

The Lanzarote Sports City is hosting the DBL 2025 Referees’ Clinic this weekend, organised by the Island Delegation of Basketball in Lanzarote, with the support of the Lanzarote Cabildo, Lanzarote Sports, and the Canary Islands Basketball Federation (FCB).

Clinic Overview

With Sergio Castro Pulido, Federative Delegate and Referee Delegate of the FCB in Lanzarote, as the master of ceremonies, the two-day event kicks off, dedicated to referees and table officials. The aim is to “spend time with referees, learn, share, and continue to grow together”.

Day One Activities

On Saturday, the first day of the clinic will wrap up with an analysis of plays, bridging the world of refereeing with that of the island’s basketball coaches. This session promises to provide valuable insights for both parties in the game.

Day Two Highlights

The Sunday programme includes various topics such as the “Coach and Referee Team Relationship” led by LF2 coach Jesús García, “Quick Throws” with referee Nicolás Murillo, “Unsportsmanlike Charges and Screens” by referee Marcos Silva, and “The Role of the Table Official” presented by official Mónica Betancort. Additionally, there will be “Protocol and Play Review” with the FCB’s table officials coordinator and “Simulations, Off-Ball Play, and Game Control” with Sergio Castro, who will conclude the DBL 2025 Referees’ Clinic, marking the kickoff of the upcoming basketball season.
