Coti to Headline the Los Remedios Festivities in Yaiza 2025
The municipality of Yaiza will kick off the Los Remedios 2025 Festivities this Friday, 29 August, offering a programme filled with music, tradition, and humour. The highlight will come on 8 September, the Grand Day of Yaiza, featuring the much-anticipated concert by international artist Coti, who will perform alongside his band in the Plaza de Remedios.
Opening Ceremony and Rubicón Festival
The celebrations will commence with the official opening speech, taking place this Friday, 29 August at 20:00 in the Casa de la Cultura Benito Pérez Armas. The speech will be delivered by siblings Juana and Enrique González Hernández, known in the community as “the postal family” due to their historic connection to the local postal service.
Following the opening speech, at 21:00, the Agrupación Folklórica Rubicón will hold their festival in the Plaza de Remedios. This year, they will feature a special performance from the Agrupación Folklórica Los Dóniz from the Valle de la Orotava (Tenerife).
Romería of Los Remedios
On Saturday, 30 August, the programme will start with children’s activities and a foam party. In the afternoon, at 18:00, the traditional Romería and Offering to the Patroness will take place, featuring groups performing music and dance, as well as festively decorated animal-drawn carts. The procession will begin at the Yaiza football field parking area and proceed to the Plaza de Remedios.
Humour and Sacred Music for Sunday
Sunday, 31 August, will offer a varied schedule, including a children’s party at noon, a couples’ gymkhana at 17:00 in the square, and a recital of sacred music at the Church of Los Remedios, featuring the Agrupación Vocal de Yaiza and the Trio of Sacred Music.
In the evening, starting at 20:30, laughter will take centre stage with performances by Canarian comedians Carmen Rosa and Chano, promising an evening filled with merriment.
Coti’s Concert on 8 September
The Events Councillor, Daniel Medina, highlighted that 8 September, the Grand Day of Yaiza, will be marked by live music from Coti and his band:
“We present a varied programme that culminates with Coti, an international artist currently touring Europe who will be landing in Yaiza to conclude our festivities in an unforgettable manner.”
The Argentine singer, known for hits like Nada fue un error and Antes que ver el sol, is set to deliver a performance showcasing his extensive career.
