This initiative further solidifies the island corporation’s dedication to innovation and digital knowledge. “Following the excellent response to these activities in Morro Jable, we are very excited to bring this proposal to Gran Tarajal, coinciding with such an important event as Youth Week,” declared Councillor Carmen Alonso. “It is a fantastic opportunity for the young people of the island to engage with technology in a completely innovative and enjoyable way, demonstrating that digital leisure is a field full of possibilities and creativity,” she added.

The activities, designed for all audiences and aimed at beginners, will take place in two main areas. Firstly, ‘FPV Drone Circuit: Fly like a Professional’. A closed circuit will be set up where attendees can be introduced to the thrilling world of FPV (First Person View) drones. Guided by industry professionals, participants will not only witness high-speed flying demonstrations but also have the chance to pilot a drone themselves. This activity combines skill, coordination, and cutting-edge technology, aiming to pique interest in a booming sector with numerous professional and recreational applications.

Diving into Virtual Reality: A Journey to Other Worlds

The second activity is titled ‘Virtual Reality Printing: A Journey to Other Worlds’. This will allow attendees to immerse themselves in virtual reality (VR) experiences using the latest headsets on the market. Participants will be able to explore virtual worlds, interact with immersive environments, and experience unique sensations without leaving the beach. This initiative is part of the Department’s efforts to showcase how virtual reality can serve as both an entertainment and educational tool, exploring new horizons.

The Department of New Technologies has stated that such collaborations are essential for nurturing curiosity and education in emerging technologies. The activities on 28th and 29th August are another step in the Cabildo’s strategy to establish Fuerteventura as a benchmark for innovation and technology, providing citizens and visitors with experiences that blend leisure with digital education.
