Dance Workshop “The Body Became Verb” at La Tegala, Haría
On Saturday 13th September, from 11:00 to 13:00, the dance workshop “The Body Became Verb” will take place at La Tegala, Haría, led by the renowned dancer, choreographer, and director of the Nómada company, Roberto Torres. Registration starts at €15.
The workshop is part of the 7th edition of the Traslación Dance Festival, organised by the festival itself, with sponsorship from the Cabildo of Lanzarote and in collaboration with the Haría Town Hall.
An Innovative Proposal for Contemporary Dance
The workshop combines the strength of African dances with the language of contemporary dance, encouraging participants to explore the profound connection between collective movement, repetition, and ritual.
During the session, participants will engage in:
- Group Work: with sequences inspired by everyday tasks and popular traditions.
- Individual Perspectives: each soloist transforms the foundational sequence through their most emotional, personal, and instinctive experiences, creating a unique space for expression.
Rediscovering the Body and Ancestral Memory
The workshop offers a journey towards improvisation, shared listening, and a connection with ancestral bodily memory, inviting participants to engage with the common roots of dance as a vital, collective act. Each attendee will discover new forms of expression and rediscover their body as a vessel of memory.
