SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Endesa, through its subsidiary e-distribution, will construct a new transformation centre in Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife. This facility aims to enhance the network’s capacity during peak electricity consumption periods, as announced by the company in a press release on Thursday.

The new transformation centre, which will serve around 300 customers, is designed to prevent interruptions in supply during events such as efficiency losses caused by maximum consumption levels seen during heatwaves like the one experienced this summer.

It has been highlighted that Granadilla is one of the municipalities in Tenerife that has witnessed demographic growth in recent years. Consequently, the local council has expressed interest in expediting all administrative processes, including the granting of permits, to complete the project as swiftly as possible.

LAND ALLOCATION

The e-distribution technicians have proposed to the council the possibility of allocating a piece of land for the construction of this third transformation centre, ideally situated close to the other two existing centres in the Los Llanos area. The council has committed to considering this request.

During the meeting, it was noted that various projects are already underway in the municipality to improve service quality. This includes the replacement of up to 33 metal supports—12 of which have been completed—and overhead conductors on the medium voltage line between Los Abrigos and El Médano, with an investment of €500,000.

Additionally, an investment of €100,000 is being made to replace underground medium voltage conductors and to increase capacity in the urban area of El Médano, with improvement works already in progress.

Furthermore, permission has been requested from the council to construct a new underground medium voltage line between La Jaquita, Ensenada Pelada, and El Médano to enhance supply in that area, with a budget of €600,000.
