Endesa to Build Transformation Centre in Charco del Pino
Endesa is constructing a transformation centre in Charco del Pino to accommodate the increased electricity consumption. This facility will service approximately 300 customers and aims to prevent supply interruptions during peak consumption periods, such as the high temperatures experienced this summer.
Expedited Administrative Process
Moreover, given that Granadilla de Abona has seen significant demographic growth in recent years, the local government has proposed to expedite administrative procedures, including the granting of permits, to swiftly complete the project.
Construction of Third Transformation Centre
Energy company technicians have suggested to the Council the allocation of land for the construction of a third transformation centre, in close proximity to the existing two centres in Los Llanos. The Town Hall has committed to review this request.
Investments in Infrastructure
Endesa, through e-distribution, is also replacing 33 metal supports (12 completed) and overhead conductors on the medium voltage line between Los Abrigos and El Médano, with an investment of €500,000. Additionally, it has announced an investment of €100,000 to replace underground medium voltage conductors and increase capacity in the urban area of El Médano, with ongoing works.
New Underground Line Proposal
On another note, Endesa requires the Town Hall’s authorisation to construct a new underground medium voltage line connecting La Jaquita, Ensenada Pelada, and El Médano, aimed at improving supply in that area with an investment of €600,000.
The company expects to invest over €1.27 million this year in the municipality for improvement works
Positive Community Engagement
Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, Councillor for Municipal Services and Works, noted that “the meeting was very positive, as it allowed us to convey the concerns of local residents and, at the same time, gain first-hand insight into the measures the company plans to enhance the service.”
All these improvements to the electricity supply in the municipality were discussed at a meeting held last Wednesday at the Town Hall of Granadilla de Abona, featuring Marcos Rodríguez, Councillor for Public Services and Works, Environment, and Beaches; María Candelaria Rodríguez, Councillor for Security, Urban Planning, Procurement, and Animal Welfare; along with e-distribution technicians Ángeles Durán and Moisés Hernández.
Importance of Quality Supply
In line with this, Urban Planning Councillor Candelaria Rodríguez emphasised that “the quality of the electricity supply is essential for the urban and economic development of Granadilla de Abona. We appreciate Endesa’s commitment to continue working on improvements that directly benefit the well-being of residents.”
