The Security and Emergency Consortium of the Lanzarote Cabildo had to assist several individuals following a fire that broke out on the fourth floor of a building on the corner of Norte and Janubio streets in Arrecife.
According to information provided on Wednesday, the fire affected one room and began to spread to the rest of the property. When the firefighting team arrived at around half past nine in the evening, they found that members of the National Police, Local Police, and the Canary Island Emergency Service (SUC) were already on site and confirmed that no one was inside the affected flat.

The team proceeded to extinguish the fire and rescued one person who was in the adjacent flat. Three other individuals were on the rooftop and were kept there until the staircase was ventilated, after which they were escorted to the street. Once the fire was extinguished and the building ventilated, the tenants were able to return to their homes, and after confirming there was no smoke, they were allowed to enter. Only the affected flat remained uninhabitable.
The rescued man was evacuated to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital due to smoke inhalation.
