A new container fire has wreaked havoc in the capital, Arrecife, this time affecting a commercial premises adjacent to the containers.
The Consortium of Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo of Lanzarote reported that at 02:53 hours, they received an alert from the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) regarding the container fire on Juan Negrín Street in Arrecife, prompting a rapid response from a team of firefighters.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that the fire affected four containers and an adjacent commercial premises.
The team initiated extinguishing efforts using misted water.
Due to the heat generated by the fire, the glass windows of the premises shattered, necessitating ventilation of the interior to remove accumulated gases and the removal of some damaged glass from the exterior of the property.
Once the fire was extinguished, the team proceeded to clean the roadway and cordon off the affected area. The blaze caused damage to three organic waste containers and one cardboard container, as well as material damage to the commercial premises.
Finally, relevant data was collected, and CECOES was informed of the conclusion of the operation. Both Local Police and National Police were also present at the scene.
