The heavy fog at the Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna airport on Saturday, 17 August, prevented the landing of several flights, which were diverted to Tenerife South-Reina Sofía airport. By the time of this report, nine flights had already been diverted, according to Aena.
Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna airport had to activate the Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) due to adverse weather conditions affecting the area.
Due to the heavy fog, airplanes faced difficulties landing at the airport, although the low visibility did not affect any planned departures, Aena informed this newspaper.
