The Sports Department of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura has recorded a total of 286 applications for the sports grant programme for 2025, of which eleven were submitted directly by the institution. This figure reflects the high level of interest among clubs, federations, and athletes in accessing this financial support.

The period for completing any outstanding documentation will remain open from 21 August to 3 September and can be managed at the General Registry of the Corporation, at Citizen Attention offices, or through other official channels available.

The financial allocation amounts to €2,228,000 and will be distributed on a competitive basis. These grants aim to support activities that promote grassroots sports, event organisation, the development of healthy habits, and the encouragement of projects related to active leisure.

Eligibility and Goals

The call for applications is aimed at local entities, sports associations, federations, high-level or performance athletes, and organisations based on the island that promote sporting practice.

Official Statement

Insular Councillor for Sports, Luis González, emphasised that this investment seeks to ensure that no athlete or group is left unsupported due to financial reasons, highlighting the role of sport as a tool for social cohesion and improving quality of life in Fuerteventura.

All detailed information about the call for applications can be found on the digital announcement board of the Cabildo and on its official website.
