The beach at Gran Tarajal will be the musical epicentre of Fuerteventura on Saturday, 23rd August, with the celebration of the “Summer Sound Festival,” an event that is part of the programme marking the 50th anniversary of Youth Week. From early afternoon until night, the public will be able to enjoy free live music outdoors, featuring a line-up that combines local artists and groups from the rest of the archipelago. Gran Tarajal will host the “Summer Sound Festival” as part of the 50th Youth Week.

Confirmed names include La Regadera, Renzzo, Agua de Chorro, Saylen, Mejor con Copas, and La Banda del Cuco, along with other performances that will remain a secret until the show begins. The organisation has designed an event that is open to all ages but with a pronounced youthful energy and a festive atmosphere aimed at enlivening the social and cultural life of the municipality.

From the Town Council of Tuineje, it is highlighted that the festival will serve as a space for coexistence for residents and visitors, enhancing the image of Gran Tarajal as a dynamic and welcoming coastal town. The mayor, Candelaria Umpiérrez, emphasised that music thus becomes a vehicle for strengthening local identity and attracting a diverse audience.

The Councillor for Youth and Celebrations, David Herrera, noted that this proposal is one of the highlights of the Youth Week programme, especially due to its varied line-up and the opportunity it presents to make Gran Tarajal the musical heart of the island, if only for a day.

The “Summer Sound Festival” is part of a broader agenda of activities promoted by the Town Council of Tuineje and backed by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands Government, and Canarian Ports. The common goal is to offer cultural and leisure alternatives that extend beyond the summer season. Gran Tarajal will celebrate the “Summer Sound Festival” within the 50th Youth Week.
