The Town Hall of Granadilla de Abona, through the Department of Public Services and Works led by Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, has initiated the tendering process for the first phase of the comprehensive renovation project for the Charco del Pino football field, with an investment of €838,921.01 and an estimated execution period of four months.
The intervention includes a complete overhaul of the facilities, which will take place in several phases. The project encompasses the installation of artificial turf and a new irrigation system, the installation of safety and perimeter fencing, the placement of nets, the foundation bases for the future grandstand with a roof, as well as the drainage of rainwater to the ravine, in compliance with the requirements of the Council of Waters of Tenerife.
Commitment to Sports Development
The Mayor, José Domingo Regalado, emphasises that the tendering of these works is “the result of efforts made in recent months by this government team to address a historic demand from the Charco del Pino community. Our goal is to provide the municipality with modern, safe, and functional sports facilities that meet the needs of the groups who train and compete there.”
According to the Sports Councillor, Fredi Oramas, “the Town Hall continues to work diligently to ensure quality spaces that match the commitment and enthusiasm of our athletes and local clubs.”
Infrastructure Improvements
Meanwhile, the Works Councillor, Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, emphasises that “today marks an important step in fulfilling our commitment to Charco del Pino and its sports club. We have obtained the authorisation from the Spanish Football Federation and have included enhancements in the tender, such as the drainage and foundations for future lighting poles, which will increase energy efficiency and visibility on the pitch. The Department remains committed to the Director Plan for the Improvement of Municipal Sports Infrastructure, initiated in October 2023.”

Both the proposals and the supplementary documentation must be submitted within the specified timeframe, in accordance with the conditions set out in the tender announcement.
