Granadilla de Abona continues its commitment this year to providing physiotherapeutic rehabilitation at sea during the summer months.

The Councillor for Health Promotion, María Candelaria Chinea, along with the head of Social Services, Rubén García, recently visited the participants of this free programme aimed at individuals suffering from fibromyalgia and breast cancer, which is part of the community care service.

The programme runs from July to October and takes place four days a week: three days at El Médano beach in the mornings, and one day at the M3 multifunctional sports centre, also in El Médano, with indoor physical activities.

All sessions are conducted by specialist staff and aim to improve mobility and flexibility, alleviate joint pain, enhance circulation, reduce lymphedema, and provide guidelines for correcting posture, among other benefits.

Candelaria Chinea highlighted the positive reception of this initiative and stated that it will continue to receive support due to the significant health and quality of life benefits the sea offers to those suffering from these conditions. The councillor also remarked that the programme is open to all residents of the municipality who wish to enhance their wellbeing and are affected by these health issues.
