Granadilla de Abona Unveils Autumn Cultural Programme for 2025

The Town Hall of Granadilla de Abona, under the direction of the Culture Department led by Carlos Abismael Díaz Barreto, has unveiled its cultural agenda for the autumn months of September, October, and November 2025.

The programme features a diverse array of activities suitable for all audiences, including exhibitions, literary presentations, storytelling sessions, creative workshops, magic shows, concerts, and meetings with artists.

Event Venues

Activities will take place in prominent cultural venues across the municipality, such as the Convent, the Casa de la Cultura de San Isidro, the Espacio Cultural El Secadero, the San Isidro Espacio Cívico (SIEC), and the Centro Juvenil de El Médano.

Commitment to Culture

According to Carlos Abismael Díaz, “With this autumn cultural agenda, we are committed to revitalising our cultural spaces, significantly increasing the number of exhibitions within the same quarter and spread across several areas within the municipality. We wish to bring art and culture closer to all citizens, regardless of where they live.”

“Furthermore, children’s activities will take centre stage, under the banner of UNICEF’s Child-Friendly City, reaffirming our commitment to the children and youth of Granadilla de Abona, who will be the true protagonists of many of the initiatives,” he added.

Highlighted Events

Among the most prominent events is the exhibition ‘Jacovitti, Talent and Excess’ at the Casa de la Cultura de San Isidro, open until 28 September. Also noteworthy is the adult storytelling session ‘La Zona Encuentada’, conducted by Antonio Conejo, on 5 September, and the opening of ‘Isla Vertical’ by artist Carmen Cólogan, accompanied by pianist Yasmina Asencio, on 6 September.

The calendar also features art exhibitions, such as one by Ana Alemany on 3 October, and another by Miguel Ángel González Marrero on 14 November. In terms of music, the show ‘La Orilla Dorada’, featuring Ernesto Rodríguez Abad and Ábora Cel, will take place on 24 October, along with the ‘Mousiké. Master Class’ sessions scheduled for September, October, and November. The programme will conclude with the Santa Cecilia Concert, performed by the Banda de Música Sociedad Cultural José Reyes Martín on 15 November.

The Role of Music

The responsible councillor emphasises the central role of music in this programme, with concerts by the Banda de Música Sociedad Cultural José Reyes Martín taking place in various neighbourhoods, “bringing culture to the streets and strengthening community identity and participation.”

As Díaz Barreto explains, “Our aim is for culture to be a driving force for social cohesion, citizen participation, and shared enjoyment, establishing Granadilla de Abona as a leading reference in the island’s cultural programming.”

The complete cultural agenda is available on the municipal website www.granadilladeabona.org, where advance registrations for certain activities can also be made.
