Illegal Street Vending in Santa Úrsula Leads to Civil Guard Intervention

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Agents from the Civil Guard’s Nature Protection Service, known as Deprona Teide, have reported an individual engaged in street vending in a busy viewing area in Santa Úrsula, located in the Chipeque region.

Purpose of Patrols

This action is part of the Civil Guard’s efforts to monitor and prevent overcrowding in viewing areas near Teide National Park, as well as to avert potential forest fires.

Discovery of Unauthorised Stall

While on patrol, the officers discovered a small stall in one of the viewing areas of Santa Úrsula selling cold beverages and various food items.

Failure to Present Required Documentation

The agents requested the vendor’s documentation to confirm compliance with regulations governing the sale of food products.

As the individual was unable to provide the necessary credentials for the vending activity, they were informed that they must cease operations and will be proposed for sanction due to five violations of Legislative Decree 1/2012, dated 21 April, which approves the Consolidated Text of the Commercial Activity Regulation Laws of the Canary Islands and regulates commercial licensing.
