The Pequeño Valiente Foundation, in collaboration with the Lanzarote Cabildo, is pleased to announce the First Childhood Cancer Day on the island. The event will take place next Friday, 12th September, from 9:00 to 13:30, aiming to raise awareness among the Lanzarote community about the reality of childhood cancer and to highlight the importance of providing support not only to the affected children but also to their families.

Creating a Space for Reflection

This initiative seeks to establish a space for meeting and reflection, where crucial aspects related to childhood cancer will be addressed, from the importance of donations to the emotional impact on patients and their families. Professionals participating in the event include a psychologist from the Pequeño Valiente Foundation, the supervising paediatrician from the hospital’s blood bank, and affected mothers. The documentary “Camino Vital,” featuring adolescents from the Foundation on the Camino de Santiago as a message of resilience, will also be presented. The intent is to listen to their voices and experiences, contributing to a more aware and empathetic society regarding this issue.

Participation Details

Additionally, a certificate of attendance will be provided for those attending during work hours, and a small coffee break will be available for participants. Prior registration is required.
