Flights from Fuerteventura to Madrid available from £16

Iberia Express has announced the addition of 116 extra flights for the winter season 2025/2026 on its routes connecting with the Canary Islands. It has also made 153 adjustments to utilise larger aircraft, thereby increasing the number of available seats.

The airline reaffirms its commitment to maintaining connectivity for Canary residents year-round, aiming for a regular and stable operation that supports responsible and sustainable tourism across the islands.

Increased Capacity in Tenerife and Gran Canaria

Iberia Express highlights the significant capacity increase at Tenerife Norte, with an additional 15,000 seats, and Gran Canaria, which sees an increase of 8,300 seats. This enhancement coincides with the airline’s largest pricing campaign, offering flights to Madrid from £13 per leg for residents.

The airline’s capacity in the Canary Islands will grow by 5% compared to previous schedules, translating to nearly 30,000 additional seats between October 2025 and January 2026. This growth is achieved through the addition of 116 extra flights and over 150 adjustments to aircraft size, transitioning to A321neo planes to increase available seating.

Through this initiative, the airline reaffirms its commitment to improving connectivity for the Canary Islands and their residents, contributing to a more sustainable and responsible tourism model across the archipelago.

Up to 52 Daily Flights Between the Canary Islands and Madrid

Iberia Express is especially reinforcing its connections with Tenerife Norte, where it has added over 15,000 seats to the initially planned capacity. The airline will offer up to 8 daily frequencies to Madrid during the winter season. In Tenerife Sur, an additional 850 seats bring the total to 3 daily frequencies.

In Gran Canaria, connectivity is bolstered with nearly 8,300 additional seats through aircraft upgrades and 42 extra flights, allowing for up to 10 daily frequencies to Madrid.

The airline has also increased capacity in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and La Palma by an additional 4,500 seats.

This increase in capacity in the Canary Islands showcases the strong commitment we have maintained since the start of our operations,’ remarked Isabel Rodríguez, Commercial Director of Iberia Express. ‘We are aware of the responsibility in ensuring connectivity for both residents and visitors, and we have focused on optimising our fleet usage to allocate more capacity on routes connecting the Canary Islands with Madrid and, through this hub, with the entire short, medium, and long-haul network of the Iberia Group.’

Efficient Connections via Madrid

Around 21% of passengers flying between the Canary Islands and Madrid do so in connection with other destinations. For this reason, Iberia Express has designed a flight programme with optimised schedules to facilitate connections with the rest of the Iberia Group’s network.

In the short haul, Palma de Mallorca, Vigo, and Alicante are among the most frequent destinations for clients flying between Madrid and the Canary Islands. The extensive availability of schedules offered by Iberia Express covers all time slots, which, combined with a punctuality rate exceeding 90%, ensures efficient connections with both domestic and international destinations.
