ICAVI Invites Bids for the Construction of 75 Affordable Homes in Puerto del Rosario

The project that was previously left void in the first bidding now has a total investment of €12.9 million

 

The Canary Housing Institute (ICAVI) has launched a bidding process for the construction of 75 publicly funded protected homes in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura.

 

According to the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, this project, which was initially void in an earlier bidding process, is now backed by a total investment of €12,825,473.96. It has been funded by Next Generation European funds through the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR).

 

This is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with a contribution of €328,893.27 from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, while the Cabildo of Fuerteventura allocates €717,443.18. The majority of the funding, amounting to €12,496,580.69, is provided by the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

 

This initiative, classified as urgent due to the application of Decree Law 1/2024 of 19 February, which establishes measures to address housing emergencies, is divided into two independent lots.

 

Firstly, in the Don Quijote site, located between Don Quijote, Dulcinea, and Sorolla streets, the construction of 47 protected properties and 47 parking spaces will be undertaken, with a bidding budget of €7,110,230.36 and an estimated completion time of 20 months.

 

Secondly, in the Bernegal site, situated between Bernegal, El Alpende, and Tabajoste streets, 28 protected homes and 28 parking spaces will be built, with an investment of €5,715,243.60 and an estimated completion time of 18 months.

 

Interested companies can submit their bids until 18 September 2025, at 17:00 (peninsular time), through the Public Procurement Platform website, where they can also consult the specifications and conditions.
