They appreciate the inclusion of the airport in the new DORA 2027-2031 as a continuation of the strategy promoted in the previous legislature, which successfully integrated it in the previous cycle
The Socialist Party of Lanzarote has welcomed Aena’s proposal for the new investment cycle 2027-2031 (DORA III), which includes essential actions at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport. These include the comprehensive expansion and upgrading of facilities, new check-in areas, security and boarding controls, improvements in accessibility and intermodal transport, as well as an aesthetic renewal that respects the island’s visual identity.
The Secretary General of the PSOE in Lanzarote and Congress member, María Dolores Corujo, has positively assessed this proposal, which she noted continues the work initiated in 2019 during her tenure at the Cabildo of Lanzarote when the airport was incorporated into DORA 2022-2026.
“This is one of the most strategic infrastructures for our island, and it is immensely satisfying to see that the demands we championed during our administration, in coordination with the Spanish Government and Aena, are progressing and yielding tangible results,” stated Corujo.
The socialist deputy highlighted that the new investment cycle proposed in DORA 2027-2031 will lead to a profound transformation of the airport, enhancing both capacity and services, and aligning with the high standards that Lanzarote deserves. This is in line with our commitment to a more sustainable, accessible, and higher-quality tourism model.
Corujo also acknowledged Aena’s sustainability focus, with their commitment to achieving carbon-neutral airports by 2030: “These investments not only enhance passenger experience and the competitiveness of our destination but do so from an environmentally friendly perspective that we share and celebrate.”
From PSOE Lanzarote, it is emphasised that this investment “is further proof of what can be achieved when there is political will, rigorous technical work, and cooperation between administrations.”
