Juan Quintana and Jonathan Hernández Triumph at the XXX Rally de Antigua

The Spanish Rally Champion, Juan Quintana, alongside his co-driver Jonathan Hernández from Antigua, has clinched victory in the XXX Rally de Antigua. They were closely followed by the admired local driver Aníbal Hernández and the Canarian champion co-driver Rubén Pérez, who secured second place. In third place came the determined team of driver Manuel Gutiérrez and co-driver Agustín Vega, making a strong and assured return.

There was an atmosphere of euphoria during the trophy presentation, complemented by an unparalleled camaraderie, contrasting with the speed, competitiveness, and excitement experienced over the 50 kilometres of dirt track segments that all teams showcased during the rally.

Mayor’s Remarks and Acknowledgements

The Mayor, Matías Peña, accompanied by the President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola García, and the Sports Councillor Samuel Torres, among other officials, congratulated all participating teams, especially the winners of the XXX Rally de Antigua. He expressed gratitude to the entire organisation, particularly to the united motor clubs of Fuerteventura, stating that collaboration is key and that they can always count on support from the Town Hall of Antigua.

The Mayor also thanked the island president for the collaboration of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura in processing environmental permits. He specifically noted the Infrastructure Department’s efforts, which not only prepares the dirt tracks before the race but will return on Monday with machinery to restore them to perfect condition.
