La Chola Festival Brings Joy to Arrecife

This Saturday, the city of Arrecife enjoyed a fun-filled summer day with the La Chola festival, organised by the Arrecife Town Hall as part of the San Ginés celebrations. Hundreds of families revelled in the festivities at the Parque Islas Canarias, the capital of Lanzarote.
A Day of Music and Fun
Under the direct organisation of the Tourism and Commerce Department, and the Events Department of the Arrecife Town Hall, led by Councillors Eli Merino and Óscar López respectively, Parque Islas Canarias hosted nearly 12 hours of continuous musical performances and summer fun. Hundreds of attendees enjoyed a lively family atmosphere featuring musical acts.
Official Attendance
Mayor Yonathan de León, accompanied by Councillor Eli Merino and Councillor Óscar López, was present at the Parque Islas Canarias, where joy and celebration characterised this year’s edition of the La Chola festival. The Arrecife Town Hall, under Mayor de León’s leadership, aimed to ensure that local families had the opportunity to enjoy and dance in a summery environment, complete with splashes of water and attractions for children, such as inflatable bouncy castles.
Heat Management Strategy
Due to the high temperatures recorded yesterday, the Arrecife Town Hall installed shaded areas within Parque Islas Canarias, which also featured a system of misting fans and water sprayers.
An Unforgettable Evening
During Saturday’s afternoon and evening, Parque Islas Canarias became the epicentre of fun and excitement during the La Chola festival. Performances were given by Los 600, DJ Maxi, Aseres, the bands Extra and Bomba, and DeLorean. A comprehensive security arrangement ensured that the festival proceeded without incident.
Upcoming Celebrations
The programme for the San Ginés festivities will continue on Monday, 25th, the feast day of San Ginés, featuring a traditional mass and procession with the saint’s image through the streets surrounding the church. In the evening, a grand concert will be held with Alejandro Fernández, followed by a spectacular fireworks display at El Reducto beach.
