Lanzarote Authorities Advise Against Outdoor Activities Due to Poor Air Quality

The Lanzarote Consortium for Security and Emergencies has advised against outdoor activities at educational and elderly care centres on Thursday.

Air Quality Concerns

The recommendation primarily applies during the morning, as places like Arrecife are experiencing very unfavourable air quality levels, with other municipalities also reporting poor conditions due to dust in the atmosphere.

Protecting Vulnerable Groups

In light of these findings, the Consortium advises vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly, to limit their exposure to outdoor air.

Ongoing Monitoring

This advisory will remain in effect until air quality parameters improve, ensuring the safety and health of the entire community.

The Lanzarote Consortium for Security and Emergencies will continue to monitor the situation and will issue updates as significant changes occur in atmospheric conditions. Residents are urged to stay informed through the official channels of the Consortium and the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
