Lanzarote Coalition Protests Against Israeli Genocide

The Lanzarote Coalition for Palestine continues its campaign to denounce the genocide perpetrated by the state of Israel against the populations of Gaza and the West Bank. Following the echoes of the citizen demonstration on Sunday in Madrid, where thousands of people shouted “Free Palestine” and disrupted the Vuelta a España cycling event, the group is inviting participation in a candlelit march to express social rejection of the systematic killing of civilians in the Strip.

Details of the Vigil

The vigil will take place on Thursday, 18th September, starting at 20:30. It will set off from the Casa Amarilla, located on Calle Real, and will pass through the centre of Arrecife.

Call for Justice

Since the onset of the relentless, unjust, and unequal war nearly two years ago, Lanzarote Coalition for Palestine has expressed its outrage at the international community’s negligence and the tepid measures taken. The group has demanded a just and lasting peace for Palestine, calling for its recognition as a state and the return of occupied territories.

“Fortunately, thanks to civic action, the impact of the Global Sumud flotilla, and the opposition to the participation of an Israeli flag-waving cycling team in the Vuelta a España, public opinion and governments have become aware of the majority view: genocide must end, and Netanyahu and his associates must face consequences for this crime against humanity,” stated the Lanzarote group.
