The Cabildo of Lanzarote has announced the launch of the fourth edition of the “Consume Lanzarote Vouchers” campaign, an initiative that has established itself as a driving force for commercial dynamism on the island, thanks to the collaboration with Felapyme (Inter-island Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises of Lanzarote).
The island president, Oswaldo Betancort, emphasised that it is “one of the firm commitments of the current administration, increasing its investment year on year to enhance the campaign’s impact; thus also helping families combat inflation.” Betancort also noted that the chosen dates are ideal for the start of the school year and the upcoming Christmas shopping season.
Meanwhile, the councillor for Commerce, Armando Santana, highlighted that this year’s regional contribution has increased by over €100,000, resulting in a total investment of €500,000, of which €387,000 will be directly allocated to voucher subsidies. “Citizens will be able to purchase €60 vouchers for just €30, which can be used in a wide network of participating shops across all municipalities on the island,” explained Santana.
More Vouchers in 2025
The 2024 campaign issued 9,500 vouchers, while in 2025 the number will rise to 12,900 vouchers—3,400 more than last year. Additionally, there are plans to exceed 300 participating establishments between Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
Each user will be able to acquire up to 6 vouchers, each valued at €60 (with €30 paid by the customer and €30 subsidised by the Cabildo). This means that with a personal contribution of €180, each consumer will have €360 to spend in local businesses.
To ensure a balanced distribution, each participating shop may redeem up to €6,000 in vouchers.
The anticipated overall economic impact is expected to reach €774,000, which is over €200,000 more than in the previous edition, consolidating “Consume Lanzarote” as an effective tool to promote local consumption and support the island’s business landscape.
