The Cabildo of Lanzarote has opened the second annual call for applications for the craftsperson’s card this Monday. This official recognition accredits professionals in the sector and applications will be accepted until 30th September.

Currently, 365 craftsmen and craftswomen from Lanzarote and La Graciosa hold this accreditation, which facilitates participation in fairs, access to grants and specialised training, as well as increasing the visibility of their work.

The Island President, Oswaldo Betancort, stated that it is “a key tool to support the craft sector and preserve the cultural heritage of the island.” Meanwhile, the Councillor for Crafts, Aroa Revelo, encouraged interested parties to submit their applications and reminded them that calls are held in March and September to facilitate access.

Aspirants must submit an application along with the required documentation, which includes a technical sheet of their specialty and photographs of their completed work. All information is available on the official website artesaniadelanzarote.com/carnet-de-artesano
