Lanzarote’s Hotel Rates Reach Historic High in August
The hotel rate in Lanzarote reached €168.22 in August, marking a 10.4% increase compared to the previous year and a historic record for the island, according to the latest Hotel Situation Survey from the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Comparative Rates Across the Canary Islands
Gran Canaria came second, with hotels charging an average of €150.33, which is 6.8% more than in August last year. In Tenerife, the average rate was €149, only 1.1% higher than twelve months ago.
Tourist Accommodation Statistics
Hotels in Lanzarote accommodated 154,810 tourists last month, around two thousand more than in August 2024. However, there were approximately 85,000 fewer overnight stays compared to last year, when a total of 1,150,500 nights were recorded.
Municipal Price Comparisons
Among tourist municipalities, Yaiza had the highest hotel rates in the Canary Islands in August, averaging €187.32, which is 7% more than last year.
In Adeje, which competes closely with Yaiza for the top spot in price, the average rate was €175, a 2.3% increase from the previous year.
Following San Bartolomé de Tirajana (€165.90), hotels in Tías ranked fourth among the archipelago’s tourist municipalities, with an average rate of €158, 10% higher than a year ago.
Teguise came next, with its hotels achieving an average rate of €149.50, almost 18% more than last year.
