Lanzarote is being ravaged by predatory tourism in the form of buggies and quads.

These vehicles, marketed as adventures and fun, have become a genuine scourge for our island. They destroy pathways, raise tonnes of dust, and cover already planted fields, undermining the efforts of those who are striving to keep agriculture alive in a challenging territory.
This issue extends beyond material damage; it represents a humiliation for a community watching as their land turns into an amusement park for a few, all while local authorities turn a blind eye. Each wheel that tears up a path signifies abandonment.
Lanzarote is not a racetrack; it is a unique landscape and a cultural and natural heritage that deserves respect. Political inaction transforms this predicament into a collective shame, enabling a select few to profit by destroying what belongs to everyone. If not addressed immediately, what is lost may never be recovered.
