Las Atrevidas in the women’s category and San Ginés in the men’s category were the winning teams of the Mini Wood Canary Ball Tournament, part of the San Ginés Festival. The event was organised by the Senior Citizens’ Department of the Arrecife City Council, led by Rosmen Quevedo, and took place from Monday to Wednesday last week in front of the Civic Centre in the San Francisco Javier neighbourhood.

Both Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio and Rosmen Quevedo expressed their gratitude in a press release on Thursday to the nearly one hundred participants for their contribution to the successful organisation of the competition. They also invited them to participate in the XXIV Grandparents’ Canary Ball Tournament, organised by the Cabildo of Lanzarote in collaboration with the City Councils, which will be held on the same courts at San Francisco Javier.
Twelve teams competed in the men’s category of the San Ginés Mini Tournament, with Puente de las Bolas and Democracia securing second and third place respectively. In the women’s category, nine teams participated, with Las Especiales and Las Conejeras finishing in second and third place respectively.
