A 53-Year-Old Man Rescued at Bajo de la Burra Beach
This afternoon, a man was rescued in the municipality of La Oliva after showing moderate incomplete drowning symptoms.
According to reports from the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands, the alert was received at 15:14, at which point the necessary emergency resources were activated.
The individual was initially attended to by lifeguards at the beach, who successfully brought him out of the water and provided first aid. Subsequently, personnel from the Canary Islands Urgent Care Service (SUC) and the Corralejo Health Centre arrived to conduct a medical assessment.
After being stabilised at the health centre, the man was transported by a medicalised ambulance from SUC to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura, where he was admitted with moderate drowning symptoms, barring complications.
The emergency operation involved a medicalised ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from SUC, medical and nursing staff from Primary Care, as well as local police officers, who collaborated with the health teams and prepared the necessary reports.
