Rescue at Bajo de la Burra Beach

Emergency responders at Bajo de la Burra beach, located in the municipality of La Oliva, have rescued a 53-year-old man from the sea showing signs of drowning, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre of the Canary Islands (1-1-2).

The individual was assisted by lifeguards and subsequently by personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service. He has been transported by a medical ambulance to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura.

The local police, who were dispatched to the beach, supported other emergency resources and prepared the necessary reports. The 1-1-2 service was alerted to the incident at 15:14 hours and also mobilised a doctor and nurse from the Corralejo Health Centre.
