A 70-year-old man has died today after being rescued from a hotel pool on London Street in the Tenerife municipality of Adeje. Despite the efforts of emergency teams to resuscitate him, the victim was unable to survive.
The incident occurred at 11:39 this morning (5th). According to the Emergency Coordination Centre and Security (CECOES) 112, they received an alert stating that hotel lifeguards had pulled a swimmer from the pool who was in cardiac arrest and were performing initial resuscitation efforts.
Following the call, the 112 service immediately dispatched the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) with a basic life support ambulance, along with a medical team and nurse from the Los Cristianos Health Centre. Upon arrival, the medical personnel continued advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and managed to stabilise the man.
Once a pulse was restored, the victim was transported in critical condition to the hospital, where sadly his death was confirmed. Both the Local Police and the National Police arrived at the scene to assist the other emergency services and to carry out the necessary procedures.
