Man dies after falling six metres while painting in Arrecife

A middle-aged man tragically lost his life on Saturday after falling from a height of approximately six metres while painting a property on Isaac Albéniz Street in the La Concha neighbourhood of Arrecife.

The workplace accident occurred at 09:15, at which time the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands received the alert.

In response, the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) dispatched a medically equipped ambulance and another for basic life support. National Police and local police from Arrecife also arrived at the scene, collaborating closely with medical teams throughout.

When emergency services arrived, the worker was found to be in cardiac arrest due to the severity of injuries sustained from the fall.

SUC personnel commenced both basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, but unfortunately, they were unable to reverse the situation. His death was confirmed at the site.

The victim hailed from Caleta de Famara in the municipality of Teguise and was engaged in painting tasks at the time of the accident.
