Man in Critical Condition After Fall in Mogán

A 55-year-old man is in a critical condition after falling approximately three metres to the public road while working on a property in the municipality of Mogán, located in the south of Gran Canaria, according to reports from the 1-1-2 emergency service of the Canary Islands.

Incident Details

The accident occurred on Avenue Los Canarios around 1:00 PM when the Coordinating Centre for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert regarding the fall. The man had been performing work on the property when the incident happened.

Emergency Response

As ground teams were en route to the scene, a medical helicopter from the SUC was dispatched to the Arguineguín dock, where Civil Protection units assisted with landing the aircraft.

Upon arrival, SUC medical personnel assessed the injured man, who had sustained serious injuries. He was then transported by ambulance to the Arguineguín dock to facilitate his transfer to the medical helicopter, which evacuated him to the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria, where he was admitted in a critical condition.

Investigation

The Local Police of Mogán are conducting investigations into the incident.

Additionally, firefighters from the Consortium collaborated with SUC medical teams and Civil Protection personnel at the dock during the preparation for the aerial evacuation of the injured man.
