Demonstration 29 August

The Canary Islands United Independent Federation (FICU), made up alphabetically of the following groups: 1) Adey Galguen; 2) Agraw, Ancestral Spiritual Assembly of the Canary Islands; 3) ATACA (Association of Employed Taxi Drivers in Costa Adeje); 4) Collective of Independent Women of the Canary Islands (CMIC); 5) Lanzarote Neighbourhood Force (FVL); 6) MLNC. National Liberation Movement of the Canary Islands; 7) PSYPOLCA (Group for Political Psychology Research in the Canary Islands); 8) Save Canary Islands, Environmentalist Association; 9) Titañe, Guanche Historical-Cultural Association; 10) United Neighbours of the Canary Islands (VUC), along with fraternal relations with the La Palma Independent collective and the Imazighen Studies Centre of the Canary Islands (CEIC Tamusni), encourages the Canary people to attend the demonstration called by the Rotating Permanent Tagoror, taking place on Friday, 29 August 2025, at 11:30 am on Avenida Playa Paraíso in the municipality of Adeje on the island of Tenerife. This is a defence of the Canary Islands against the appalling ecocide being perpetrated in the sacred sites of Cuna del Alma and El Puertito de Adeje by the socialist mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, regional president of the PSOE in the Canary Islands, and Belgian speculative businessman Filip Andreas Hoste.

The devastating macro or mega project in Adeje involves the destruction of Guanche archaeological sites, which are being profaned with impunity, along with the aggression against the region’s flora and fauna, the eradication of the lithic wealth resulting from volcanic eruptions over thousands or millions of years, and the forced expropriation of people who have long resided in the area, preserving the ethnographic values of the land.

The Spanish colonial regime in the Canary Islands is imposing the criminal “mass tourism model” to enhance the plunder, looting, theft, and exploitation of our Archipelago. The serious assault in Adeje is another link in the long chain of attacks against the people and territory of the Canary Islands, whereby the oligarchic, monarchical, and colonial state that is Spain practises a SCORCHED EARTH policy, in collaboration with filthy international capital from the sex, drugs, and arms markets, which has been using the Canary Islands as a laundering ground for such dirty money.

In the colony, the triplets—PP, PSOE, and CC—behave as obedient partners in the Spanish colonial administration, allowing all public institutions to refrain from acting against the ecocide in Adeje.

In response to this assault on the Guanche archaeological, ethnographic, botanical, geological, and biological values of the Canary people in Adeje, we have no choice but to engage in massive popular mobilisation, judicial action already underway, and continuous media efforts across press, communications, and social networks, to put a stop to the barbarism being committed by Fraga and Hoste in Adeje.

The Canary Islands are NOT for sale, they are Loved and Defended; therefore, only through popular mobilisation can we halt this collective madness of concrete and tar, in which Spain and its lackeys, servants, and henchmen in the colony have embroiled us.
