New Blood Donation Campaign Launches in Teguise and Haría, Lanzarote

Blood Donation Campaigns Aim to Raise Public Awareness on the Importance of This Charitable Act at Least Twice a Year

The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Haematotherapy of the Canary Health Service (SCS) has launched a new initiative to promote blood donation in Lanzarote, specifically in the municipalities of Teguise and Haría.

Healthcare professionals from the SCS are heading to Teguise, where a mobile unit will be stationed next to the Teleclub de Famara, on San Borondón Street, for the event Marea de Vidas. The donation service will be available to donors this Tuesday and Wednesday from 17:00 to 20:30.

Additionally, the campaign will continue in Haría, located on Arco Iris Street in Arrieta, where extractions will take place on Thursday from 17:15 to 20:30 and on Friday from 10:15 to 13:00.

The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Haematotherapy reminds the public of the importance of donating blood at least twice a year to maintain the necessary stock of blood products in the public hospitals across the archipelago.

The fixed blood donation point of the Canary Transfusion Network remains operational on the island, located at the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital, on Tinajo Road, number 2. It is open Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 13:00, except on public holidays.
