The Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Los Cristianos in Arona is launching a new cultural season that emphasises artistic excellence, genre diversity, and a commitment to making culture accessible to all citizens.
This agenda was presented on Friday with the participation of Arona’s Mayor, Fátima Lemes, and Councillor for Culture, Naim Yanes, who highlighted the municipal efforts to establish this venue as a cultural and social reference in the south of Tenerife.
Organised by the Cultural Board, the programme combines tradition and innovation with performances featuring music, theatre, magic, zarzuela, and family-friendly proposals. Mayor Fátima Lemes Reverón stated that “culture is a driving force for social cohesion, economic development, and tourism. With this season, we reaffirm our commitment to a diverse and high-quality agenda that brings culture closer to both residents and visitors while reinforcing Arona‘s identity as a cultural destination.”
Meanwhile, Councillor for Culture, Naím Yánez Alonso, emphasised that “this programme is the result of months of work and dialogue with companies and artists who have trusted Arona to present their proposals. Our goal is to continue providing top-tier performances and to spotlight local talent, which is increasingly represented at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium.”
A Programme for Everyone
The season will kick off on Friday, 19 September with Ilusionarte, the new show by illusionist Jorge Blass, who returns to Canarias after captivating international audiences with an innovative format and an intimate staging.
Continuing the schedule on Saturday, 20 September, Estrellas de Buena Vista will pay tribute to the legendary Buena Vista Social Club, featuring musicians who were part of the ensemble and new generations of Cuban artists, under the musical direction of Pancho Amat. The performance recreates the golden era of Cuban music with pieces such as Chan Chan, Dos Gardenias, and El cuarto de Tula.
On Saturday, 25 October, the Antología de la Zarzuela will be showcased, performed by the Tinerfeña Coral Mass and the Pulses and Plectrum Group from the Municipal School of Music and Dance of Arona, featuring a careful selection of representative fragments from the genre.
On Friday, 7 November, the auditorium will host the play Campeones2, directed by Juan Manuel Montilla “El Langui” and inspired by the successful film, featuring a cast including Emilio Gavira, Gloria Ramos, and Alberto Nieto. The piece aims to convey a message of inclusion, empathy, and overcoming through theatre.
Renowned Names from the Scene
The line-up is further enhanced by performances from renowned artists such as actress Antonia San Juan, singer-songwriter Paco Candela, Argentine Axel, Mexican group Montesanto, and comedian David Navarro.
Additionally, the Arona Lyrical Festival 2025 will bring international opera figures such as tenor Alejandro Roy and baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez. The programme also includes the recording of the comedy show En Otra Clave from Televisión Canaria and the play Si Lorca levantara la cabeza, a tribute to the legacy of the Granada poet.
Culture for All
The agenda reserves a specific space for children and families, with five school performances in the morning aimed at students from local educational centres, as well as new dramaturgies, hybrid languages, and contemporary creations designed to attract diverse audiences.
The new cultural season at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium is the result of collaboration between the Arona Town Council, public institutions, and artistic companies, and reinforces the municipal commitment to maintaining a stable and accessible programme that invigorates the cultural life of the municipality and strengthens its projection as a constantly evolving tourist and cultural destination.
