Busy Night for Lanzarote’s Emergency Services as Firefighters Respond to Nine Container Fires

Firefighters from the Lanzarote Consortium of Security and Emergencies had an exceptionally busy night, responding to as many as nine fires in waste containers across the island.

Locations of the Fires

The affected containers were located on Hnos. Díaz Rijo Street in El Cable, José María Gil de La Concha Street, as well as Siroco and Botavara Streets in Playa Honda.

Response and Damages

Upon arrival at each incident, firefighters quickly began extinguishing the flames with water. In total, nine containers were completely destroyed by the fire, along with some vehicles that also suffered damage.

Police Involvement

Local police officers, along with members of the Guardia Civil, were dispatched to the scene to assist with the situation.
