Officers from the Investigation Area of the Main Post in Yaiza of the Civil Guard have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking. This intervention is part of Operation “Calcetines,” initiated after detecting significant drug dealing activity in Playa Blanca.
During the investigation, the officers caught the suspect in the act of “dealing” drugs, which led to his immediate arrest. Based on the evidence gathered, the Court of Instruction Number 3 in Arrecife has authorised a search of his home and vehicle.
In the operation, one kilogram of high-purity cocaine, half a kilogram already mixed, and half a kilogram of cutting agents were seized. Precision scales, packaging materials, and various utensils for preparing doses for sale were also discovered.

The officers also located 200 grams of hashish, ecstasy tablets, doses of LSD, and a significant amount of Rivotril, a benzodiazepine medication often used recreationally in the illegal market.
In addition to these substances, more than seven thousand euros in cash were found.
The arrested individual was brought before the judiciary on the same day, August 18. The Court of Instruction Number 3 in Arrecife ordered his provisional detention.
The Civil Guard has highlighted the importance of the operation, which has successfully removed a significant quantity of drugs from the market and curtailed their distribution in the south of Lanzarote.
