Four young individuals, aged between 23 and 28, operated within an organised structure in the capital of the island
National Police have arrested four young individuals, two brothers and their respective partners, aged between 23 and 28, as part of an operation against drug trafficking and membership of a criminal organisation in Puerto del Rosario, on the island of Fuerteventura.
The arrests followed an investigation that commenced on 5 April this year when a 23-year-old was caught in a prefabricated container preparing narcotic substances, specifically crack cocaine, according to the National Police.
After this arrest, officers began tracking a network dedicated to the acquisition, preparation, and distribution of cocaine, crack, and hashish in the locality.
During the investigation, it was established that the suspects regularly used vehicles to transport the substances and held meetings with others involved in drug trafficking, acting as an intermediary link within the criminal structure.
Agents also carried out searches at two of the suspects’ residences, seizing 3,651 grams of hashish, 1,066 grams of cocaine, 445 grams of marijuana, 47 anabolic steroid pills, €39,164 in cash, bladed weapons, and materials and tools for cutting and weighing drugs, along with two vehicles used for distribution.
Following the completion of police proceedings, the detainees were brought before the competent judicial authority, which ordered the immediate imprisonment of the two main suspects.
This operation sees the National Police dismantle a drug trafficking network operating in Puerto del Rosario, successfully eliminating two active sales points in the locality.
