The Fuerteventura Chamber of Commerce and the Canarian Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI) have announced the closure of the registration period for the Global Startup Competition, part of the forthcoming edition of Africagua Canarias 2025, which will be held in Fuerteventura on 20th and 21st November. Over 50 startups have registered for the Global Startup Competition at Africagua Canarias 2025

The competition aimed to identify the most innovative startups in the field of water and renewable energies. It has concluded with the participation of 46 emerging companies from countries such as Spain, Morocco, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Kenya.

The competition seeks to promote disruptive projects that offer real and sustainable solutions to significant global challenges. This includes issues related to water management and the development of clean energy. Among all the proposals received, 10 finalists will be selected. They will have the opportunity to publicly present their projects during the celebration of Africagua Canarias 2025, in front of a jury composed of industry experts, investors, and institutional representatives.

The winners of the competition will also be announced at this event. The first prize will receive a monetary award of €10,000, while the runner-up will be awarded €5,000.

With this initiative, the Fuerteventura Chamber of Commerce and ACIISI reinforce their commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, as well as innovation and international cooperation in key sectors for the future.
