Police Prevent Suicide Attempt in Arrecife
National Police agents successfully intervened to prevent a man from attempting suicide on the evening of Friday, 5th September, in Arrecife, according to information from the Emergency Consortium.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on the bridge outside Arrecife hospital. Following an alert received by CECOES, local police, an ambulance from SUC, and firefighters promptly arrived at the scene. The swift intervention of the officers helped calm the individual and secure him before a tragedy could unfold.
Emergency Response
In addition, the Emergency Consortium deployed a vacuum mattress, which ultimately was not required.
Aftercare and Support
The individual was subsequently attended to by medical personnel from the Canary Emergency Service.
