Launch of the Raya Exhibition Catalogue by Ángel Padrón at El Almacén

The Cabildo de Lanzarote will present the catalogue for the Raya exhibition by artist Ángel Padrón on Friday, 12th September, at 19:30, at the cultural space El Almacén. Admission is free and open to the public.

A Project Bridging Painting, Architecture, and Landscape

Following the installation of the Raya exhibition, the catalogue serves as a publication that encapsulates texts from curator Dalia de la Rosa and writer Melchor López, alongside editorial design by Carmen Quijano and photographs by Aday Palmero.

The exhibition proposed a dialogue between painting, architecture, and landscape, inviting contemplation on the boundaries and intersections between art and territory. As Dalia de la Rosa remarked, “Raya does not refer to a mere stroke, but operates as a metaphorical device, a meeting space between the end of one idea and the beginning of another.”

Ángel Padrón: A Figure in Contemporary Canarian Art

Born in El Hierro in 1969 and holding a degree in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna, Ángel Padrón is among the most recognised artists in the regional painting scene. His works often present as constructed landscapes, where human intervention intertwines with natural creation.

Throughout his career, he has held over twenty solo exhibitions and numerous group shows across the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, and abroad. His work has been displayed in venues such as the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Galería Rafael Ortiz (Sevilla), Galería Berini (Barcelona), TEA, and CAAM, among others. Additionally, he is part of significant public collections.
