The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Primary Sector department led by Matías Peña, in collaboration with the Association for the Management of Rural Development Maxorata, is promoting new workshops. This initiative aims to further professionalise the primary sector in Fuerteventura. These courses are accredited for professional agricultural qualification. ‘Practical Workshop on Regenerative Viticulture II in Fuerteventura: Phenological States and Nutritional Needs in Vine Cultivation’ will take place from 30 September to 2 October, led by organic farmer and environmental consultant Eduardo Franquiz.

This programme consists of three days aimed at both professionals and enthusiasts of viticulture. It will focus on plant nutrition, vineyard management, and improving fruit quality.

Those interested must register in advance, either via email at [email protected] or in person at GDR Maxorata Verde, C/Lucha Canaria nº 112, Pto del Rosario, in the Agriculture Building on the second floor.

The second training cycle, ‘Course on the Preparation of Pressed Cheese and Dairy Products: Yoghurts, Spreads, Ricotta, and Butter’, is organised by GDR Maxorata Verde and the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin of Majorero Cheese. This course, aimed at existing or newly established cheese dairies, will run from 6 to 10 October. This time, the course is provided by the International School of Dairy Industries.

The programme aims to equip participants with solid knowledge about the quality of raw materials and practical skills for producing various types of cheese, fostering innovation and excellence in the Canary dairy sector.

The courses are funded by GDR Maxorata through its own resources under the PEPAC 2023-2027 LEADER programme.
